A very nice gastro pub situated in the beautiful town of Woodbridge. Stunning walks and rustic aesthetic, this small town is well worth a visit. The Turks Head was a great place to stop for dinner with beautiful surroundings and clean, modern interior. It was a homely environment with a relaxing atmosphere. Service was slow to start but acceptable towards the end, with a great addition of the service team singing happy birthday to us as the desert came with a candle and a free glass of sparkling wine for the birthday boy. A beautiful touch that made our evening all the more special. The menu was superb. Small yet diverse, utilising locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. The starter, chicken strips, had to be the best chicken dish I can recall having. The perfectly seasoned panné was phenomenal with so much flavour, and crispiness. The chicken was moist and delicious and the most delightful coleslaw you’ve ever tasted. The main, a burger, was a flavour masterpiece of amazingly seasoned, perfectly cooked steak haché. Bacon, onion jam and cheese complimented each other exquisitely alongside the amazing pickled slaw. Desert, even with the added birthday treat, was a master peace of culinary skills. A perfect, Tonka bean brûlée and delicious plumb crumble finished the meal with great finesse. This pub was unfortunately let down by it’s very poor wine list. This for me, however, wasn’t a problem as I was drinking beer. One of the best gastro pub meals I’ve had in a very long time. Chef Rob really knows his food and can deliver superb quality. I highly recommend you to try his food; you will not be disappointed.

Visiting as part of a group of twelve, first impressions were very good indeed. A very friendly welcome from a bearded gent I took to be the manager and his young female waiting staff. Even a hiccup with a wheelchair-bound client, which necessitated a complete change of table, was quickly resolved, menus provided and drinks orders taken. The smiley, curly-haired young lady, who seemed to be our main server, read all the orders out and everyone seemed happy. Except, for some reason they sent out two starters at the same time as the rest of the mains (very odd) and seemed to have completely mislaid a lamb and a pork main course. You would have thought they would have noticed the omissions, but didn't. My roast beef with all the trimmings was both plentiful and excellent and there was a splendid choice of separately served vegetables, including cauliflower cheese. I would have preferred the gravy separately, rather than have everything swimming in it, but that's a minor issue. Surprisingly, sauces had to be asked for, rather than offered. The bearded man returned, rather brusquely, we thought, to take the dessert and coffee orders but even his method didn't work, with one wrong order and one extra portion. So, overall, a very nice place to eat, with some service issues that need addressing.

Our party of 22 (including four children aged five and under) were so well looked after by Gareth and his team. The food arrived promptly, everyone was pleased with their pre-booked choices, and we had a lovely separate area for all of us to sit together comfortably. Even the monsoon-like weather we arrived in couldn’t dampen our enjoyment. We’d highly recommend The Turks Head and will definitely be back the next time we’re in the area.

This is the first time I have been to the Turks head. We were made to feel very welcome . The restaurant is beautiful with big windows looking out to well kept gardens . The food was delicious. I had beef with Yorkshire pudding and side dishes of vegetables. For dessert I had Sticky toffee pudding, this was the best sticky toffee pudding I have ever had in my life. The staff waiting on the tables, we're very helpful . I would definitely recommend The Turks head for one of the best meals in Suffolk.

Under new management - Great kick off! Eating area decor and atmosphere very warm and tasteful. Every course was very tasty and despite being fancy style a la carte the portion sizes were perfect. Lovely bottle of red to go with it. Will be returning thanks!
